Operational Design & Business Process
Turn an unclear way of working into visible workflows, defined ownership, practical hand-offs and a clear set of improvement decisions.
Experience & credentials
I bring more than 28 years of experience across business operations, service design, digital systems, supplier environments and organisational change.
Independent Operational Design & Business Process Consultant
My work sits where day-to-day operations, team structure and digital systems meet.
Across large organisations and smaller businesses, I have repeatedly seen the same pattern: growth or new technology exposes weaknesses that were manageable when the team was smaller. Roles blur, hand-offs multiply, managers become bottlenecks and expensive tools are asked to compensate for unclear processes.
I provide an independent view of how the business actually works. I work directly with owners, directors, managers and key team members to make responsibilities, workflows, decisions and system dependencies visible and easier to manage.
I do not sell software, implementation projects or managed services. My role is to identify the structural problem first, then help design a simpler operating model around the people and tools you already have.
Core capability
Turn an unclear way of working into visible workflows, defined ownership, practical hand-offs and a clear set of improvement decisions.
Clarify roles, responsibilities, decision rights and communication boundaries as the team grows beyond informal founder-led coordination.
Assess how tools such as CRM, project management, collaboration and finance systems support the workflow, where they overlap and where manual work is being created.
Make expectations, hand-offs, ownership and escalation clearer where freelancers, agencies, SaaS providers or other external partners are part of the delivery model.
Use interviews, workflow mapping and structured problem analysis to show where work slows down, repeats, depends on one person or gets lost between teams.
Help leadership teams prepare for growth, restructuring, new systems or new ways of working without simply scaling the problems that already exist.
Experienced, but deliberately pragmatic
My background gives me access to the disciplines used in larger organisations, but I use them selectively. You do not need an ITIL programme, a transformation office or a shelf of documentation. You need enough structure to make work clearer, decisions faster and growth easier to manage.
Selective senior support
I work selectively with a limited number of clients on defined problems where an experienced independent view can remove friction quickly and leave the leadership team with a practical way forward.
